We’ve done all the hard work so you don’t have to. We’ve searched and searched, choosing only the brands that meet a list of sustainable and ethical criteria.
Some facts
The fashion industry produces:
10%
of annual global carbon emissions
100 billion
garments every year
92 million
tons of clothing goes straight to landfills
20%
of global water pollution
We’re working our damndest to try and get these numbers down!
Materials and Packaging
We only source products with the most sustainable ingredients in their category.
This means prioritising organically grown, natural and renewable fibres such as hemp, linen and organic cotton. For synthetic materials, we source products made from recycled material, for example leggings made from recycled plastic bottles. Who doesn’t love keeping plastics out of our oceans while looking good doing so?
For our Body & Beauty products, we prioritise plant-based, non-toxic and biodegradable ingredients that are locally sourced, avoiding artifical fragrances and colours or petroleum-derived sulfates.
We make sure you can shop confidently knowing our products are good for you and good for the planet.
We all know the deal with plastic, its one of the biggest global crises we currently face, so its an easy decision to source only from brands that avoid plastic packaging.
Manufacturing
Did you know that in the average life-cycle of a t-shirt, it can be shipped across our planet at least three times, as the cotton goes from farm to mill to a cut-make-trim facility and then finally to the country in which it is to be sold? This transport contributes huge amounts to the global carbon emissions.
That’s why we prioritise products manufactured in South Africa, ensuring one less journey our final products have to make across the globe. Let’s keep international travel for fun holidays, why don’t we?
This also means good news for our local economy as labour is kept local and jobs are created. We love supporting our family members, friends and neighbours.
People responsibility
We want to support planet and people, so we seek out brands that create their products ethically with their workers in mind. This means fair wages and safe and equitable working conditions.
We also seek out brands with a community conscience, those who give back and uplift communities. Think providing period packs to teens or increasing access to dental care for kids in under-resourced communities, this is the stuff that makes our hearts happy.
